What is this settlement about?

Nutramax Laboratories agreed to an $11.5 million settlement to resolve claims that it falsely marketed its Cosequin dog supplements as supporting joint health, mobility, and cartilage — with claims like "Supports Mobility for a Healthy Lifestyle" and "help your pet Climb stairs, Rise and Jump!" The lawsuit argued that peer-reviewed studies found no evidence that Cosequin's active ingredients (glucosamine and chondroitin) actually improve joint health in dogs. One study published in the British Medical Journal's Vet Record found dogs receiving the supplement showed "no significant response" in gait analysis. Nutramax denies wrongdoing and settled to avoid the cost of continued litigation.

Who's excluded: Cat products are not covered — only dog Cosequin products. Residents of states other than California, and anyone who bought for resale or business use, are not included.
