Banana Republic and The Gap agreed to a $1.95 million wage-and-hour settlement (Weitz v. Banana Republic, LLC, Los Angeles County Superior Court). The suit alleges California wage violations — unpaid minimum/overtime wages, non-compliant meal and rest periods, inaccurate wage statements, unreimbursed business expenses, late wages, and sick pay — plus a PAGA representative claim. The companies deny wrongdoing and settled to avoid the cost and uncertainty of litigation.

Who's excluded: Class members can opt out of the class portion by July 21, 2026 (but cannot opt out of the PAGA portion). Checks become void 180 days after issuance — keep your address current with the administrator.
