What is this settlement about?
Allina Health System agreed to a $12.5 million settlement (Ahlers v. Allina Health System, District of Minnesota) over claims that tracking pixels on its websites disclosed personal and health-related information of visitors to third parties such as Meta and Google. Allina denies the allegations; the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing. The class is split into two groups: Group 1 (portal, bill-pay, or scheduling users) and Group 2 (other patients). The $12.5M is split into a $10,303,098 Group 1 fund and a $2,196,902 Group 2 fund, each distributed pro rata to valid claimants in that group.
Who's excluded: Excluded are Allina and its officers/directors, anyone who validly opts out, and the assigned judge and magistrate. Payments are pro rata, so amounts depend on how many valid claims are filed in each group.
How much can you get?
Pro rata cash (by group)
Your share of your group's net fund (Group 1: $10.3M; Group 2: $2.2M) after fees, service awards, and administration. No fixed per-person amount — the more valid claims in a group, the smaller each share. No receipts; just your Notice ID and last name.
