Who qualifies?
Received notice that your data was exposed in the Comcast Xfinity (December 2023) data breach.
- U.S. or territory resident who received a Comcast breach notice around Dec 18, 2023
- Have the Class Member ID from that notice (needed even for the no-proof $50 payment)
- Documentation required only for the up-to-$10,000 out-of-pocket tier
What is this settlement about?
A $117.5 million settlement was reached in Hasson v. Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. It resolves claims tied to an October 2023 cybersecurity incident in which attackers accessed Comcast (Xfinity) customer data between October 16 and 19, 2023. Comcast disclosed the breach on December 18, 2023 and notified affected customers; roughly 36 million Xfinity customers were impacted. Comcast denies all wrongdoing and liability.
Who's excluded: Limited to U.S. (and territory) residents who received an individual Comcast breach notice around December 18, 2023. Expenses already reimbursed elsewhere don't qualify, and self-prepared documents alone aren't sufficient proof.
How much can you get?
